Serves: 4
Preparation time: 30- 40 minutes
Cooking time: 10 – 20min
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Soak the beans for at least 3 hour or overnight. To make your work easier soak them overnight.
Step 1: Remove the beans skin by rubbing them between your hands.
You will instantly see the skin of beans coming out. This step is a little time consuming.
Variations: You might choose to use bean flour to skip that step. You can buy bean flour at your local African grocery store.
Step 2: In a food processor add the washed beans with half cup of water.
Blend until you get smooth batter. The batter should not be too watery.
Step 3: To the bean’s batter in the food processor, add the onion, green chili, bouillon cube, red pepper, salt and mix well.
Step 4: In a skillet heat the vegetable oil until it’s quite hot.
Use a deep spoon to drop the mixture into the oil and fry the akaras until brown.
Make sure to turn them frequently while frying to make sure the inside is cooked.
Remove the beans fritter in the oil and place them into a towel paper to remove the excess oil.
Enjoy with some tomato sauce or any hot sauce.
