African Bread Sandwich

These African sandwiches are so simple to make but so yummy.  You can find this sandwich bread almost everywhere in Guinea.  

I love to make a big batch of the sauce, put in the refrigerator and use it every time I need it.

Ingredients

  • ·         200 to 250 g ground beef
  • ·         1 cup of a mixture of parsley, basil and green onion
  • ·         1 onions, sliced
  • ·         4 garlic gloves, crushed
  • ·         100 ml of vegetable oil
  • ·         1 tsp black pepper
  • ·         Salt to taste
  • ·         Mayonnaise
  • ·         Bread (French bread or African bread)
  • ·         Fresh tomato or cucumber, cubed

Direction

Heat the oil and add the ground meat, pepper, onion and garlic, stir fry for few minutes.

Add parsley, basil leaves and green onion and let it brown for 5 minutes

Add one cup of water and salt, let it simmer until the liquid is dry and the oil is out (around 20 minutes)

Get your bread; add a generous amount of mayonnaise and spread the ground meat inside.

Enjoy your sandwich
